Photojournalism was arguably started by Henry Cartier-Bresson who was the "godfather of journalism". Henry managed to capture decisive moments because of his natural talent and because of the Leica camera, the decisive moment is a picture that would mean nothing if it was taken a second earlier or later. Robert capa was one of the worlds greatest war photographers, he started in 1936 during the civil war and was often on the front lines risking his life to take photos of classic moments, Robert worked for Life magazine and was on the front lines on D-day, he was under pressure to get the pictures back with the deadline for Life magazine drawing near, however 3 and a half of his roles of pictures got destroyed. Tony Vaccaro was a soldier and a photographer so was on the front lines while he was taking his pictures, the camera he got issued with was too ineffective to take any good pictures with.

the leica camera helped to develope to way people looked at photojournalism, it was portable and was one of the first cameras to take pictures instantly, the decisive moment was only able to happen because of the leica camera.
